Visual Components 4.0, a commercial 3D event simulation software, combines three engineering disciplines in one platform, including, material flow, robotics simulation, and controls validation. Users design factory layouts with numerous models and factory components, such as pre-engineered conveyor units and industrial robots. Available in three versions, Essentials, Professional, and Premium, Visual Components aids planning and optimizing factory/production line layouts as well as provides visualization and simulation of factory/production lines. As a result, production processes can be optimally implemented and production plants planned with the best feasible three-dimensional design.

With visualization, there is no need for a precise layout. Visualization provides an approximate graphical view of a factory or production line, making it ideal when there is no hard data to describe a concept. In contrast, simulation creates an accurate version of the factory or production line with all the components operating in a real environment. This function allows designers and engineers to perform feasibility studies and collision detections as well as analyze the production line’s performance.
